Data Handling
PixelEditor processes JPG images directly in your browser. When you select an image, the browser decodes it into your device's memory, applies the correct orientation, and encodes the result as WebP using the browser's own WebP encoder. The JPG is not uploaded to a PixelEditor image-processing server for conversion. PixelEditor does not intentionally store your selected image in a database, cloud storage, or server-side processing queue. The image remains available to the page while you are using the converter. PixelEditor does not intentionally write the image to local storage or persistent browser storage. When you load another file or close the page, the image data held by the page can be released. The converter does not use cookies or analytics to track your image-processing activity. The page also performs a small local WebP encoding test to verify that your browser can create a valid WebP before enabling the conversion. Like any website, the server delivering PixelEditor may receive normal technical information associated with a web request, such as your IP address, timestamp, browser information, and requested page. The image itself is not included in the request used to load or operate the converter. The WebP file is generated locally in your browser and becomes available for download when you choose to save it. PixelEditor does not need access to the resulting file after it has been generated. The converted WebP does not preserve the original image's EXIF, GPS, or colour-profile metadata. Lossy WebP conversion may also change image data depending on the selected quality setting. PixelEditor uses browser-based processing so that JPG-to-WebP conversion does not require sending your image to a processing server, while making no claim that the website itself collects zero technical data.
