Data Handling
PixelEditor processes images directly in your browser. When you select an image, it is decoded into your device's memory and encoded locally according to your selected compression settings. The image is not uploaded to a PixelEditor image-processing server for compression. PixelEditor does not intentionally store your selected image in a database, cloud storage, or server-side processing queue. Target-size compression may encode the image several times while searching for the highest quality that meets your selected file-size limit. These operations take place locally in your browser. PixelEditor does not intentionally write the selected image to local storage or persistent browser storage. The image data remains available to the page while you are using the tool and can be released when you load another image or close the page. The compressor does not use cookies or analytics to track your image-processing activity. The image itself is not included in the network requests used to load or operate the tool. Like any website, the server delivering PixelEditor may receive normal technical information associated with a web request, such as your IP address, timestamp, browser information, and requested page. The compressed image is generated locally in your browser and becomes available for download when you choose to save it. PixelEditor does not need access to the resulting file after it has been generated. The compressed output does not preserve the original image's metadata, including EXIF, GPS, and colour profile information. PixelEditor therefore uses browser-based image processing to avoid sending your image to a processing server, while making no claim that the website itself collects zero technical data.
